Bathroom Remodels in Durham, NC

I hired Shawn to install a fan in a bathroom that was built in the 80s without a fan. This included adding new electrical wiring, new ducting, and cutting a hole through the side of the house for the vent. Shawn was responsive throughout all the planning, including a visit to the home, providing a professional estimate, and email communication with me to coordinate on my requests around the specific fan and timer switch I wanted. The job started and finished exactly according to schedule; the final price was exactly as quoted (and on par with three other estimates I got); and all four people that worked in my home were professional, efficient, and cleaned up after themselves. If you’re reading this review then you are probably going through the nearly impossible process of finding a contractor that is honest, reliable, skilled, and sticks to budget - Shawn is all of those things!

Shawn was a great contractor to work with, helpful with design questions, tolerant of delays and producing excellent results. He sheparded us through months of permitting hurdles and handled the bureaucratic side of the process. Once started, he worked well with another contractor also working on the house. He cleaned up the building site and performed final painting and sanding that we didn’t expect. We were very pleased with the final product. We recommend him highly.

I highly recommend Clear River Contracting. Originally I hired Shawn to replace an old fiberglass moulded shower with a new unit, which he did and it looks amazing! He went over and above with every detail.

I was in the process of getting my home of 33 years ready to go on the market and I was overwhelmed with repairs/upgrading that needed to be completed. Shawn took on everything that I threw in his direction without hesitation, which included a new bathroom, carpentry work on my deck/house exterior, drywall, plumbing, electrical, power washing house/driveway, painting - there is no way I could have met my deadline without his help.

I am so thankful he answered my plea for help on Nextdoor!
